Ira Shalit
(*1984, Petah Tiqva, lives in Tel Aviv)
Â
Ira Shalit is an artist exploring the formats of collaboration, drawing, and bringing out the tactile humour in everyday situations. A bird that appears to be sitting in a cage – an amusing depiction of Ira's recent period, whilst creating a series of digital drawings; resembling comics in a daily newspaper.
Together with Ruth Patir he ran and organized Mazeh9, an independent artist space in Tel Aviv, and also engaged in creative workshops with local Ethiopian immigrant youth in Israel.
Exhibitions at Ventilator, Tel Aviv (2020); Agency Travel, Husslehof, Frankfurt (2018); Bezalel Gallery, Tel Aviv (2017), and L'oeil-de-boeuf, Lyon (2015)
