FINALE
Renaud Jerez & Tore Wallert
16 – 30.9.2020
Solna Business Park, Stockholm
Opening of two custom site-specific interventions
Renaud Jerez (*1982, Narbonne, lives in Paris) is one of France most interesting artists active internationally, and produces large-scale alternative worlds he builds from colorful processed material. Often, the site-specific environments contains expectation or an element of performance. Like a cartoon version of “Avatar” with snowboard boots, he creates a futuristic vision or starting point – a sculptural scenario skillfully saturated at an almost factory-like pace.
As a starting point this spring, Jerez had the whole corner space on Svetsarvägen clad in green, sort of like an empty intermittant stage – waiting to function as a backdrop for his vivid scultpural installation.
The new work contains Paris masquerade store gear, paint, skulls, painted walls, and drip glue.
Previous exhibitions include the ICA, Miami; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Jennys, Los Angeles; and Le Consortium, Dijon.
Tore Wallert (*1985 Stockholm, lives in Berlin) creates types of performatively charged sculptural situations with a high level of craftsmanship and anti-aesthetic stylism. During the past year he has been touring with Tobias Koch and Thibault Lac — a tight-knit award winning performance and dance group, where his participation is visible ranging from the analog-looking posters, to swinging a lasso in cut up boots.
Wallert continues to persistently create complex visual worlds through installations and printed aluminum. Together it tells a story about friends, process, and Europe today from the flank.
For "Finale", Tore scattered onion peel into one of the window spaces, and installed several new paintings in the old transport entrance space in the back of the building.
Exhibitions include: “Such Sweet Thunder”, Leopold Museum, Vienna, 2019; “His World and Other Ones”, Erik Nordenhake, Stockholm, 2017; “Walkers”, (feature film) The Loon, Toronto 2016.
